The directions say nothing about how to play Audible downloads. It appears to work fine for playing music but it clearly was not designed for listening to books. There are about 50 words in the entire instruction manual, and none of them explain how to play books. The controls are sensitive but again, if you just want to start and stop playback of a book, they are overly sensitive, complicated, and ill-suited for use while moving about. It comes with songs pre-loaded but they must have been recorded in some of the worst nightclubs by the worst singers in the world - delete them all upon purchase to free up a little more memory. I'm glad it didn't cost much because I didn't feel bad trashing it and replacing it with a Sony Walkman. PS - If you're new to Audible AND have a new Sansa Fuze - Good Luck, and hope you have lots of spare time and patience.

I have had several different mp3 players, and I have to say just get an Ipod. I bought the Fuse for my mom for Christmas last year and it was not the easiest thing to get music on to her Fuse. Downloading the updates for the Rhapsody software was a huge pain and had to be done before we could even get started. My mom lives out in the country and doesn't have DSL or a cable internet, good ole dial up! The software in my opinion should have been ready to use right from the box. I should have been able to put the software on her computer, move the music to the Fuse and be done with it. So basically it isn't the device that is a pain, it is the software. Once I got all of the updates needed to get started I was able to move music around fairly easy between Itunes and Rhapsody. So for the price I guess it is ok, but not as user friendly as the Ipod.

I have now purchased two of these players, one for myself and one for my neice. Simply put this player has everything that an Ipod has for about 1/4 the price. Actually it has a bit more when you consider the fact that the turd, commonly known as Itunes, is not needed with this player. Solid hardware. Great battery life. Easy to use controls. If you would like to make a donation to the Steve Jobs charity then by all means get an Ipod, but if you'd rather donate that money to a different cause then buy this player.

If you're just listening to music this is a great choice, but it you want to watch videos do not buy the Sansa Fuze. The Sansa Media Converter doesn't stay running stable long enough to convert anything, it blows up and closes. The Sansa Support people are clueless, even though this common problem is pasted all over the blogs on their website. Why doesn't Sansa FIX the problem? So....you then try a bunch of shareware, freeware and value priced media converters and none of them have the right set of codecs for the Sansa Fuze. Overall...I am very upset. This is a popular player and you'd come to expect that Sansa would provide a media converter that works for free. I would suggest to anyone to buy a ZUNE. I have no problems with any of my Zune Players. You just drag and drop and the software that comes with Zune will perform the conversion and transfer the video to your player. The Sansa Fuze is cute, but that's about it. The Zune maybe ugly, but it WORKS!!!!!
